Registration Information

SBP-BRiMS Program Chairs should contact Dr. Kathleen M. Carley at sbpbrims@andrew.cmu.edu for registration information. All people receiving either travel grants, graduate student consortium grants or diversity scholarships must still register and pay for the conference and any tutorials they are interested in attending. See the Scholarship Page for more information. There are NO refunds on registration.

Early registration will end June 20, 2018 at 4:59PM EDT.

Tutorial Schedule

There will be nine three-hour tutorials. Tutorials have not yet been assigned. You can log in to add tutorials once they have been published.

Cost of tutorials:

  • With Conference Registration
    • $15 each or $20 for 2 or $25 for 3
  • Without Conference Registration
    • $50 each or $70 for 2 or $75 for 3

SBP-BRiMS 2018 has two types of scholarships available: a diversity scholarship and a student scholarship. You can apply for either or both awards. However, you can only receive one award. If you are applying for a scholarship, register for the conference and tutorials of interest to confirm your registration but wait to pay the registration fee until after the fellowships have been awarded

Diversity Scholarship

Amount: Determined based on need. Scholarships are based on actual expenses and are not a fixed amount. The maximum that can be received per person is $800.

The goal of the diversity scholarship is to help promote involvement by diverse groups. The successful applicant can apply the scholarship to pay for conference fee, tutorials, and/or travel. Preference is given to those students who are presenting papers or posters, or taking part in the challenge problem.

Student Scholarship

Amount: Determined based on need. Scholarships are based on actual expenses and are not a fixed amount. The maximum that can be received per person is $800.

The goal of the student scholarship is to help promote increased attendance by college students. The successful applicant can apply the scholarship to pay for conference fee, tutorials, and/or travel. Preference is given to those students who are presenting papers or posters, or taking part in the challenge problem.
