SBP-BRiMS conference will provide scholarships to a select number of participants to attend the conference (virtually or in person). Conference participants can apply for SBP-BRiMS Conference Scholarships during registration process.

Level of participation in the conference, need, and diversity will be considered when reviewing applications.

Scholarships are based on actual expenses and are not a fixed amount. Scholarship will cover the cost of conference participation, as per the following format:

  • if attending virtually, you are eligible for up to $355 for conference scholarship.
  • if attending in-person and you are a local participant (within 50 miles of the conference venue), you are eligible for up to $450 for conference scholarship.
  • if attending in-person and you are not a local participant (more than 50 miles from the conference venue), you are eligible for up to $1000 for conference scholarship.

Scholarship awardees are required to provide documentation of all expenses post conference for receiving scholarship. These details will be provided to all the conference scholarship recipients.

Eligibility for Scholarship:

  • Applicants must be 18 years or older, be an undergraduate or graduate student from any US university, regardless of their citizenship/visa status.
  • Early career researchers (postdoctoral fellows, early career faculty) are also eligible.
  • Applicants from underrepresented and/or marginalized groups including, but not limited to gender, identity, race, ethnicity, disabilities, socioeconomic status, discipline.
